How Often Should You Post New Content?

contentmarketingexplained-smIt takes time to correctly produce web copy for your blog.

Producing web copy for a site is something, which if done correctly, takes some time to create. Many copywriters know the value of well-written copy and are constantly changing the copy on their websites to keep up with the demand of their targeted audience. The question is, how often should you produce new content?

It all depends on the type of content you are talking about and how well it is or isn’t performing for you. Let’s take a closer look.

Sales Copy Content

There are a few factors in determining how often you should change or produce new content. If you follow your rankings on any of the popular search engines and you see your rank drop, then you may want to freshen up your content to help move you back up the ranks. Creating keyword rich articles that can be distributed throughout cyberspace will help to increase your rankings and put you back in the spotlight.

If your site offers something for sale, it is wise to change the content up when you have a new offering such as a free or discounted offer. There is no need to completely re-do your entire website as this may confuse dedicated visitors when they come to the site in search of something they had found there before.

Obviously, if your site is doing well in attracting new visitors and subscribers, you probably won’t need to change your copy. However, it wouldn’t hurt to tweak it here and there to keep it fresh and on the search engines radar.

Tweaking the sales copy on your site and performing maintenance is suggested. However, if you’re one of the lucky ones whose copywriting produces quality leads and your sales are through the roof, then leave it and think of the old adage “If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Blogs or Informational Site Content

If your content is in blog form, it is imperative to your readers to have fresh content an either a daily basis or every other day. A blog is something where readers want and wait for new content to be published. You need to keep this content as current as you can so in order to keep and increase your readership.

As for informational sites and article marketing techniques, the more information you can give visitors and potential customers, the better. Search engines love fresh content and so does your audience. Keep the quality content they’ve come to know and love coming and they’ll keep coming back again and again.

Are you looking to attract additional visitors to your website?  One of the most powerful ways to do this is through article marketing.  Article marketing will allow you to generate a significant traffic increase to your affiliate marketing website.  This form of internet marketing can help you effectively attract a steady stream of potential customers and other visitors to your website.

The first step in the process of article marketing is to develop a clearly written informational article.  It should provide some value, and should be written strongly enough that it helps to build credibility.   A clearly written article  makes sure your readers won’t just skim it.  By providing an easy read, you will be able to engage your potential customers, giving reason to want more.

To keep the attention of your reader, your article needs to offer some form of value.  This is the basic principle behind online article marketing.  One example of this concept could be to write an SEO-themed article about how to write effective titles for search engine optimization.  A valuable article on this subject would explain the concept and provide numerous examples, giving readers something to take away.

The result of a clearly written article providing value is credibility.  Credibility is absolutely vital if you are looking to drive a lot of traffic to your website or to your affiliate products.  Some of the best ways to build credibility through your article marketing is to inject your experience into your articles, provide references to findings from professional studies, offer facts, provide industry expertise, quotes and so on.

When a compelling article has been written, you can weave in some kind of reference to your products or services. It is important that you take this step in a modest way if you want your article marketing efforts to be taken seriously. You should not incorporate a hard sell, this doesn’t work.  Don’t tell people what to do, what to use, or force them to take your opinions.  Just write a clearly written, informative article, provide some value to your reader, and then use your newfound credibility as a way to generate traffic to your website.

Now that you have your article, you can implement on page optimization such as using your keywords in your article title. Your title should be 7 main words most of the time. Your keyword should also be used in most of your paragraphs, though not all are necessary.

Next time we will learn good ways to select appropriate keywords.

It’s no secret, you’ve heard it before, articles and content are awesome ways to pre-sell products.  When you gain your readers trust and warm them up to the product…PRESTO!…your bank account just had a deposit.

You need to make a plan for your affiliate marketing articles.   It’s important to select your topic carefully,  offer good correct information, and your article needs to be fun to read.  Then you will be able to draw your readers interest to the product.

How to Select Your Topics

Make a list of topics for each of the products you are promoting.  Put yourself in the mind of your customer.  Your topics should revolve around problems that the product actually fixes.   Those topics are the seed for your articles.

Create Good Information

The topics you listed will steer the type of information you will provide.  A couple of ideas for simple articles are:

Top ____ Ways to ____

____ Steps to _____

Keep your articles simple.  A captivating introductory paragraph, a couple of informative bullet points in between, and a summary paragraph to finish it off.

Remember not to give the whole enchilada.  You want to be informative and give your readers a good picture of their problem with a portion of the solution.  But direct them to your product for the complete solution.

Compelling Product Links

You will find that the most productive links and recommendations will be in the context of your article.  Find an appropriate place in your article and make your product recommendation, something like “_____ is what I recommend most”

At the end of your article is another great place to put an extra recommendation.

Obviously you will be limited by the venue you are posting your article too.

If you are putting it on an article directory you will probably be limited to recommendations in the resource box.  If posting to another persons site or ezine they will have their rules.  The most freedom is posting to your own site or blog.
