Balance Bikes SAFELY Teach Your Child to Ride a Bike
A balance bike is a bike for toddlers and young children. They are built without pedals, chains or other things sticking out that can injure your child.
Mom’s and Dad’s in the U.S. are discovering what parents in Europe have known for the last decade, that balance bikes teach children to ride a bike faster and more safely than tricycles or bikes with training wheels.
Tricycles tip, crash and trap. And, they’re heavy, unstable, and dangerous. When a toddler gets on a tricycle they are sitting in an unnatural position and generally have to reach up to hold onto the handlebars. The first thing a toddler wants to do is push the trike, but the design of the tricycle won’t accommodate that well. When your child pushes the trike they can get wrapped up in the pedals or the rear wheel axel and the trike tips. Trikes always tip forward and your child goes over the handlebars, a very dangerous situation.
Balance bikes are built on a frame with a seat, two wheels, and handlebars. Your toddler straddles the bike and reaches forward naturally to the handlebars. Then they just walk. There is nothing in the way to bang their shins or catch their feet. One or both feet are always on the ground (in the beginning) so they will not fall.
As your child gets more confident they will sit on the balance bike seat and start to lift their feet and coast, learning to balance naturally. If a child loses their balance the natural instinct is to put their feet down, not to squeeze a brake. Putting their feet down stops the Balance bike.
The natural progression from tricycles is to bicycles with training wheels. Training wheels, that’s a misnomer. There is no balance training with training wheels. Bikes with training wheels are very unstable and crash easily too. And when you strip off the training wheels, you have to run alongside your child, holding on listening to the screams, “Don’t let go Daddy please don’t let go”.
Balance bikes let your child learn to balance naturally and develop their coordination through exercise. Pediatricians agree that learning balance and coordination with exercise jump-starts a child’s growth and development.
Bike riding comes without any difficulty when you teach your child balance and coordination first. The balance bike lets your child concentrate on balance, which takes more practice. It’s a fact that pedaling is an easy skill to learn, most kids learn within a couple of minutes.
Balance bikes let your child become very mobile. They are lightweight and compact, so they easily fit in the back of your car. You can take them to the park or almost anywhere you walk and you child can keep up with you, while perfecting their balance and coordination and jump-starting their growth and development.
Your child can learn to ride a bike years sooner with a balance bike.
Paleo Dessert: Baked Cinnamon Apples with Butter
The Paleo Diet, sometimes called the Caveman Diet, derives its name from the Paleolithic Era. The idea is to imitate the eating habits of the hunter-gatherers of hundreds of years ago substituting foods found in nature for the processed fast foods of today. It’s an easy to follow diet, focusing on eating seafood, lean meat, vegetables, fruits and nuts. This diet allows you the freedom to enjoy what you are eating, including a delicious Paleo dessert.
When you adopt the Paleo diet you will naturally eat fewer carbohydrates by removing unnecessary sugars and starches. Quickly you will become healthier and leaner. Your risk of obesity, cancer, arthritis, and more will be reduced. Many people find their complexions clear and they become acne-free.
For decades people have been eating the wrong foods and suffering the consequences. Those wrong foods have negatively impacted mankind both physically and psychologically. The Paleo diet teaches people to trade the processed foods we have become accustomed to with good wholesome foods that are found in nature.
There are a large variety of foods that are Paleo friendly, eggs, meat, roots, fish, nuts, fruits and vegetables. But, even with all these choices your taste buds will still take a little time to become accustomed to your new eating regimen.
You can get a fix for your sweet tooth while still staying within the margins of your Paleo Diet. Baked Cinnamon Apples with Butter are a fast, simple, and delicious Paleo dessert. The natural sweetness of the apples is ample for this dessert. When you cook the apples that natural sweetness intensifies. Add the butter to give a richness that is second to none. Combine a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg to the dish and the flavors and aroma explode goodness.
4 tart apples
4 tablespoons butter
4 teaspoons cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg
Core apples making sure to leave some of the bottom on the apple
Put 1 tablespoon of butter in the hole of each apple
Sprinkle a little cinnamon and nutmeg on each apple
Bake at 350 F for 15 to 18 minutes. The apples should be soft but not mushy
Cavemen never had it so good.
The Paleo diet is a journey to a better healthier lifestyle. At first it may seem inhibiting and serious. Truth be told it is neither. The Paleo diet is liberating and a whole lot of fun. One might argue that the caveman didn’t have a tricked out kitchen; but he did have fire. And we aren’t expected to be cavemen, just follow his eating plan. Even to a Paleo dessert like Baked Cinnamon Apples and Butter.
What to Expect During and After Waxing
Waxing for men is much more popular than you may have thought. Most men are much more conscious of their appearance, and the caveman look is not professional.
What is waxing?
First the days of the sticky, gooey, honey-based waxes are gone. Soy waxes are in their place. The nice thing about Soy wax is that it only sticks to the hair.
How is waxing done?
The wax is put on as a creamy lotion. A cloth strip is put on top of that. When the wax dries it sticks to the hair. Then the cloth strip and wax are pulled off taking with it the hair and follicle, it pull the hair out by the roots to be exact.
For the most part waxing can be done pretty quickly.
While shaving is faster you still don’t have to pluck each hair. The wax can be put on large amounts of hair and removed all at once. An esthetician with waxing experience can do a complete back waxing in under an hour.
The results last for about four to six weeks.
One of the first questions about male waxing is, “Does it hurt”? To be honest it is uncomfortable. You won’t feel the same pain with a back waxing or chest waxing as women experience with a bikini wax. And most say the discomfort is pretty short lived too. So man up, women have done far more painful things to look nice for you.
Is there anything you can do to reduce waxing pain? Absolutely;
Use a professional. Use someone licensed and experienced. They will know the ‘tricks-of-the-trade’ to make your experience as pain free as possible.
Use a body scrub before waxing. Use a somewhat gritty body scrub to exfoliate your body skin. This will remove some of the dead skin holding your hair in and make it come out easier. But, use the body scrub a day or two before your treatment so your skin is not sensitive from the exfoliation.
Avoid alcohol and caffeine before waxing. Both have stimulants that can cause your skin to be more sensitive. Don’t consume alcohol or caffeine for a couple hours before; in fact drink more water instead.
Take ibuprofen or Tylenol. You can take a dose of ibuprofen or Tylenol about 30 minutes before your waxing to help alleviate discomfort.
Are there any side effects?
Bumps; waxing bumps sometimes happen; they look similar to razor burn or just irritated skin. Good news, there are a couple things you can do before waxing to lessen or avoid bumps completely.
Exfoliate this will help the hair release more easily. Apply a heat compress to the area to be waxed. It will open the pores and allow the hair to release more easily. Stick with it. When the hair grows back it will grow back softer and your skin will be more accustomed to the waxing.
You’re after waxing care should include showering with an antibacterial soap and then apply aloe vera to the area.
