I have added two new Giveaway events here. Just click on the link or go to the Giveaway page.

I cannot say enough about these Giveaway events. I now have 75 new members on two lists and that is one giveaway event.

I promise what I did is contained in ‘Listbuilding With Alex’and the upgrade videos really take you by the hand to get you up to speed.

And guess what….I am posting that…the ‘Profit Platform’… on the giveaways.

I am not bragging, I just wanted to share my success and hope it is an inspiration to you.

I added 50 new members to my opt in list on the 26th of December. 

What did I do…I joined a “Giveaway” event.  Check out my page for available giveaways.  I am using one of those right now, and the other kicks off New Years.

I have also added 7 members through my Twitter account (see previous post for details).

And I have implemented several of the traffic generators found in the freebie advertised on my blogs sidebar. 

So right now I have two lists, so I could keep track of what was going on and where…  The total for the two lists is 73 people.

I am not feeling too bad, I just started the blog on 8 December 2008, I just had the launch of a giveaway event, and the Twitter Listbuilding plan has only been in place for 4 days. 

So bottom line…as Alex coined…”Fail Forward”

As promised, and a little late in the day…Here is one way to build your list using Twitter…

You will need four things to implement this plan…

1. a Twitter account

2. a freebie for a giveaway product…I am using the profit platform that the Fortunate 500 have available.

3. an account at TweetLater.com

4. finally an email account that lets you forward emails from Twitter automatically.

Ok, have them all?

Go to your Twitter account, login and go to SETTINGS.  Once there click on the NOTICES tab.

Now make sure that the box next to NEW FOLLOWER EMAILS is checked.

Now click on the ACCOUNT tab and go to where you can add your ONE LINE BIO, this is where I put a line similar to “Follow me and I will send you a FREE traffic report” 

OKAY now lets set up your TweetLater account…

Fill in the ADD A NEW ACCOUNT form

Check the AUTO WELCOME box, under the MESSAGE SENDING METHOD select “Send private direct message”  its in the drop down menu.

Now in the SEND THIS MESSAGE area type in the note you want to have automatically sent to your new Twitter followers.  DONT FORGET THE LINK TO YOUR FREEBIE…

Remember your link to the freebie needs to go through your auto responder so they sign up to your list!!

Okay, last thing to do…

Go to your email account and set up a filter or rule to AUTO-FORWARD your new follower notification emails from Twitter to this email address twitterfollow@tweetlater.com 

The beauty of this for my fellow Alex Students is we already have the freebie with follow-up in place.  We only need to direct people to that url.

Good News: I found a way to use Twitter to build your opt in list.

Sorry but I have too many things to do for the next couple of days… My mother-in-laws birthday is Christmas Eve, I have to assist at mass at my parish both tonite and tomorrow, my kids and wife want their Christmas with my eyes and heart focused on them, and Friday I am going to visit my parents for Christmas festivities. 

But I promise I will be putting the steps to this List Building With Twitter (still thinking about the name) together, maybe even a brandable ebook, for all of you. 

I plan to write a post here by Saturday…

It will be worth the wait…maybe I should say weight <grin> cause it will grow your list I am sure.

Here we go.  I have joined my first giveaway as a contributor. 

It is the Jerry Floren Giveaway.  It will start 26 December 2008 and run through 26 January 2009.

I chose this Giveaway on an invitation from another marketer that emailed me. 

Because I have a small list right now, and want my gifts to remain on the giveaway I opted to pay a small fee to gain enough points to be sure I am included.

A quick update to where I am at right now.  I have implemented a couple of things to start generating traffic.

I have accomplished setting up this blog to Twitter each time I add a post, page or modification.  I put this on auto pilot using a free plugin called Tweet My Blog.

I have uploaded the freebie, see sidebar.

And I found I messed up and put a bad link in the previous post, which I have fixed.

I do not know how to include a screenshot of google analytics for my blog.  I can tell you that I have had 88 visits, 276 page views and the blog was created December 5, 2008. 

So here is my first idea for generating traffic. 

1) Link Twitter to my blog.

2) Twitter each change to the blog.  I found Tweet My Blog which will do this automatically for me.

3) I will start my list with an opt in freebie, see sidebar.  I hope fellow Alex students will find value in the freebie and sign up to my list.

    a) The idea here is that I will have a list which I can promote giveaways to.  By being able to promote giveaways I can incorporate the techniques found in Listbuilding with Alex .

4) Post a freebie on numerous giveaways and further develop my opt in list.

So my fellow Alex students, look for the freebie I have selected.  It will be a help to each of you.  Of course it is not limited to Alex students.  I address you because that is my primary reader, probably only reader at this time.

I just came across this cool new site maybe you could benefit from it.

It’s called Tweet My Blog and it’s a very cool Twitter plugin For WordPress.

This plugin will automatically update your Twitter when you make a change to your blog.  Very Cool.

Even more cool is you can download and use it for FREE.

In my plan for driving traffic to my blog one step was to Twitter regularly, with Tweet My Blog it is done automatically.  And auto pilot is good.

Todays training session with Alex was the begining of generating traffic to our blogs.  On account of that I will be posting a regular updates.  These updates are to share what I am doing to generate traffic and I will share what results that I am seeing. 

I will prove these traffic statistics with screen shots of  google analytics…

So as I formulate the next post, which will start with a screen shot of the begining…look for it tomorrow.
