Writing Affiliate Marketing Reviews for SEO

I can see you shaking your head already at the idea of writing a review with search engine optimization in mind. You’re afraid – rightly – of coming up with an unreadable review… perhaps even one that Google will penalize.

You’ve quickly learned that relevancy and keeping it “real” is what reviews are all about. “You should never write for the search engines!”

Actually, that’s vey true. The most important aspect of any review is to create an honest one that speaks directly, friend to friend, to your reader.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t use your review format intelligently, and boost your SEO a little in the process. After all, part of the whole principle of “being the best you can be” involves doing everything you can to achieve strong results.

Let’s start with a really overlooked component of your review – your introductory paragraph.

It’s an axiom in creative writing that one should always throw out the first paragraph, because writers tend to take too long “warming up”.

The same thing applies in writing affiliate marketing reviews. Get down to business right away. Open with a punchy sentence that makes your reader blink – but then tell him which product you’re going to be reviewing. Add a sentence or two about who, what, where, and why. (Sounds like a press release, doesn’t it?)

This is one of the few times when creative writing and marketing reviews run parallel courses for a harmonious moment or two.

Generally, when a reader is buried in a fiction novel, he likes surprises.

When someone is earnestly seeking the solution to a problem, however, they like to know what they’ll be getting – so they can decide if reading your review is going to be worth their time.

A good introductory paragraph fulfils all these requirements – and sets your reader up for a useful and enjoyable use of his time.

3 Quick And Dirty SEO Tips

Here are 3 straightforward and easy SEO tips to optimize your site.

1. Add new content regularly

While that may seem obvious, it is really the best way to improve search engine results. There are a number of ways to add content including reviews, testimonials, articles and forums to name a few.

2. Choose the right keywords

Select specific keyword phrases that are relevant to your webpage, rather than general terms. Specific keyword phrases may be searched less frequently but, you will receive more targeted traffic and a higher page rank for these phrases.

3. Linking

To achieve a high search engine ranking it is important to have other sites linking to your site. These can be one way links, or reciprocal links, where you link to another site in return for them linking to you. Internal linking also helps build the prominence of pages within your website.

Of all the types of links, one-way links have the most weight. To obtain more one-way links, writing quality content is the single best way to motivate others to link to you. Additionally, posting on social networking sites, linking to your site, and posting on blogs are other ways you can take control of building links to your website and web pages.

When it comes to improving your search engine ranking there are a lot of little things you can do to boost your page results however the three most important and the strategies you cannot survive without are obtaining links, choosing the right keywords and of course publishing quality content on a regular and consistent basis.

Writing A Traffic Pulling Article

80-855655192As marketers, we know we should be article marketing. It is how you make money as an affiliate, it is how you promote your websites and it is how you add content to your virtual real estate empire.

A lot of people find article writing difficult, because they are not used to writing. If you have the money, it can be outsourced. However, for many people starting out online, money is tight and they can’t afford to outsource.

You can get articles written for a couple of dollars, but they are likely to be very poor quality. For a decent 400 to 500 word article you are looking to pay around ten dollars, possibly more depending on the niche and the author.

You can write the articles yourself, and it’s not that difficult to do if you follow a system. Many people suffer from writers block or are just not used to writing an article. It can be somewhat unnerving to sit down and write if it is something you are not used to.

Here is a system that works very well; it is one I’ve used myself. It will have you high quality articles in record time. It really isn’t that hard and even the most novice of writers to create decent articles rapidly.

Step 1: Decide upon the niche you are writing in.

Step 2: Determine which keyword(s) you are targeting in your article.

Step 3: Determine the subject your article will be about.

Step 4: Type into Google some of your keywords and see what problems and issues people are facing in that niche. What do they want to know? What is their pain? What solutions are they looking for?

Step 5: Write a powerful, interest building headline with your keyword at the start, if possible.

Step 6: Write out four or five short sentences about the problem (don’t give away too much … you want your reader to buy).

Step 7: Turn each sentence into more descriptive paragraphs, remembering not to give away too much information.

Step 8: Write a paragraph introducing the article at the top.

Step 9: Write a paragraph summarizing what was in the article at the bottom.

And there you have a good quality, unique article that you could spin or just submit to an article directory or use on your website. Content is king on the Internet, and unique content provides you with an edge over the competition.

This method will help you to quickly write articles, and it won’t be long before you can write a high quality article in under ten minutes. With practice, you will be able to do them in five to seven minutes easily!

And remember the more articles you have out there, the more you can potentially earn!

How To Submit Articles For Maximum Traffic

It is a time honored strategy to submit articles to the search engines for generating traffic. Article submission has been used since the early days of the Internet and is still an effective traffic generation strategy even in our Web 2.0 times.

Many questions have been asked about the best method of submitting articles to get the maximum traffic and effectiveness. So, what are the best techniques and which are the most effective?

The first technique is to submit your article to the granddaddy of all article directories, EzineArticles. This site has built a reputation of being the best article directory in town. It is loved by marketers and by readers and most importantly, by Google.

It is a source of frustration to many marketers who find it hard to meet the submission guidelines or cope with the timescales for articles to be approved.

However, if you read their guidelines and stick to them, your articles will get through without a hitch.

Once they are in Ezinearticles you instantly receive benefits from it. Articles in this directory tend to rank very well in Google, even without backlinks to them. Add in a few backlinks and suddenly you find your articles are ranking in the top ten for moderately competitive keywords. In fact, even without backlinks they can often rank well just because they are on Ezinearticles.

Once your article has been published you need to do some simple backlinking to it just to give it that extra boost in the search engines.

Firstly, take your Ezinearticle author RSS feed and submit it to RSS directories. You can either use a tool or do it by hand. If you are doing it by hand, just pick the top ten directories in a Google search and that will be good enough for now. You can always submit to more later on, so make sure you keep track of which ones you have added your feed to.

You can also use one of the many ping sites to ping your article. This does give Ezinearticles a lift, but it also gets your article noticed.

Finally, social bookmark your article. Again, you can either use a tool or do it manually. If your article is newsworthy and well written then you can look at adding it to sites such as Digg or Stumbleupon to get further links and traffic.

Of course, there are other article directories out there, but none of them carry the weight of Ezinearticles. Google Knoll is a current contender and is very popular with marketers who are using it to submit their articles too. So far though, these don’t seem to be ranking as well as Ezinearticles, but it is a good way to get the Big G to notice your sites.

For the other article directories it is not worth submitting articles manually to them, except maybe the top half a dozen big directories. Many of the rest get so little traffic it is not worthwhile, except for the backlink. Therefore you should either outsource or automate these submissions to free up your time to concentrate on building your business.

If you are submitting articles then you need to make sure they are on Ezinearticles for maximum traffic. Do some simple backlinking to your article and you will easily find your articles ranking well for their keywords and bringing you good traffic.

How Often Should You Post New Content?

contentmarketingexplained-smIt takes time to correctly produce web copy for your blog.

Producing web copy for a site is something, which if done correctly, takes some time to create. Many copywriters know the value of well-written copy and are constantly changing the copy on their websites to keep up with the demand of their targeted audience. The question is, how often should you produce new content?

It all depends on the type of content you are talking about and how well it is or isn’t performing for you. Let’s take a closer look.

Sales Copy Content

There are a few factors in determining how often you should change or produce new content. If you follow your rankings on any of the popular search engines and you see your rank drop, then you may want to freshen up your content to help move you back up the ranks. Creating keyword rich articles that can be distributed throughout cyberspace will help to increase your rankings and put you back in the spotlight.

If your site offers something for sale, it is wise to change the content up when you have a new offering such as a free or discounted offer. There is no need to completely re-do your entire website as this may confuse dedicated visitors when they come to the site in search of something they had found there before.

Obviously, if your site is doing well in attracting new visitors and subscribers, you probably won’t need to change your copy. However, it wouldn’t hurt to tweak it here and there to keep it fresh and on the search engines radar.

Tweaking the sales copy on your site and performing maintenance is suggested. However, if you’re one of the lucky ones whose copywriting produces quality leads and your sales are through the roof, then leave it and think of the old adage “If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Blogs or Informational Site Content

If your content is in blog form, it is imperative to your readers to have fresh content an either a daily basis or every other day. A blog is something where readers want and wait for new content to be published. You need to keep this content as current as you can so in order to keep and increase your readership.

As for informational sites and article marketing techniques, the more information you can give visitors and potential customers, the better. Search engines love fresh content and so does your audience. Keep the quality content they’ve come to know and love coming and they’ll keep coming back again and again.

Why Should You Produce Powerful Content?

Content Marketing

Content Marketing

Did you know the Internet is made up of millions of websites. Each one of them offers something distinct, yet they all want the same thing; they want people to read the content on the page.

Don’t you think this is where compelling content creation would help. Yes, persuasive content is the best way to create a stir about your blog, there-by increasing traffic and building a client base.

Here are some important steps you need to take when writing content for your website.

Be creative when writing your content and keep it simple for the reader.
Try to connect with the reader by telling a story that relates to your product.
Engage the reader by using humor or an upbeat attitude throughout the website.
No one likes a monotone speaker and the same goes for boring, dragging content on a site.
While writing, use an active tone to call the customer into action.
Pelt the copy with SEO rich keywords to increase page rankings.

Your main goal here is to keep the reader interested in what they’re reading. When a reader, especially online, loses interest you may have lost a future customer. The customer wants to feel a connection to what they are reading, so present the content in a casual tone and provide valuable content. That will keep them coming back.

Compelling content doesn’t have to just be an article or sales copy. Other ways to create quality content and keep the reader needing to learn more about your product or service.

Quality content, compelling text, and visuals will not only make your site stand above the rest; it will secure your place in your niche.

Hey by now you all know I really like the stuff Jimmy D Brown puts out.  I am honored he has allowed me to include this guest article on my blog.  I hope you get as much out of it as I did…

Writing ezine articles is one of the best business-building activities you’ll ever invest time in on the Internet. They can be used in dozens of different ways to generate web site traffic, build lists, brand your name, earn affiliate commissions and produce sales of your products and services.

They are, unquestionably, a vital part of any successful Internet marketing campaign.

By now – if you’ve read anything in the member’s area – you know I’m a big believer in writing ezine articles. And you know that I’ve devoted many of the lessons in the member’s area toward teaching you how to write, distribute and market with them.

Yet there still remains a lingering question –

WHAT should I write about in my ezine articles?

I want to share with you some brainstorming ideas that will allow you to easily come up with a couple dozen (or more) hot ideas for your upcoming ezine articles. I’m going to briefly share seven (7) fill-in-the-blank article starters along with a brief explanation to help you get started writing attention-grabbing content.

When you’re ready to write your next ezine article, consider one of these not-yet-overused formulas…

01. What To Do When [Enter Problem Here]. The idea with this article is to offer a solution to an existing problem by matter-of-factly addressing the issue being discussed in the article. “What To Do When You Need To Lose That Last 5 Pounds” points out a problem many dieters face and hints that the article will reveal a method for overcoming this barrier. This article’s pointed style makes it a sure read.

02. Can [Enter Solution Here] Help [Enter Problem Here]? Similar to number one above, this article poses a question while emphasizing both the problem and potential solution. What really works here is to ask a “curiosity-building” question by providing a solution that doesn’t seem to fit with the problem. For example: If you’re trying to re-grow hair on your balding head, could you resist reading, “Can Cheerios Help Thicken Your Hair?” I don’t think so.

03. Should You [Enter Activity Here]? (Take This Quiz). People love quizzes. They especially love to see how they measure up in some area that they are particularly interested in. That combination makes this another ezine article that gets a lot of views. “Should You Quit Your Job And Start An Internet Business? Take This Quiz!” is going to attract every dissatisfied, looking-for-greener-pastures, internet marketing wannabe on the block.

04. 7 “Must Ask Questions” for [Enter Activity Here]. This is a perfect article for the entry-level beginner in any particular field. “7 ‘Must-Ask’ Questions for First-Time Homeschoolers’ When Choosing Curriculum” is just about a guaranteed read for all new homeschooling moms and dads who don’t want to blow it for their kids. (Note: The “number” of must-ask questions can be whatever you choose.)

05. 3 [Enter Topical Adjective Here] Lessons from [Enter Pop Culture Reference]. By using references to popular culture events, characters, television shows, news stories and trends, you’ll be able to get some cheap mileage from existing “hot buttons” of the general public. I recentl wrote an article entitled, “3 Word-Of-Mouth Marketing Lessons From the Academy Awards” that garnered a lot of interest. Guess when I released it? Yep, a week before the big awards show.

06. Mastering [Enter Topic Here]: How to [Enter Tutorial Statement Here] Part 1. This is a superb article idea for a series of related tutorials. The word “master” is a bit overused at times in marketing circles, but it means to “become an expert” at something or to “achieve dominance” over something. Who wouldn’t want to “master” their activity of interest? That’s why “Mastering Weight Loss: How To Shed 12-15 Pounds in 30 Days, Part 1” and other articles in its mold make for much-read content.

07. What Kind of [Enter Desirable Object Here] Is Best For YOU? We all want what’s “best” for us, don’t we? “What Kind Of Internet Business Is Best For You?” indicates there is something revealed in the article that will allow me to determine which of the options available to me is best suited for me. This is a really solid article to point others towards additional resources (such as special reports, mini-courses, etc.) where they can get specific information about which of the “options” mentioned in the article is most interesting and compatible with them.

So, there you have some great ideas to get you started on your next ezine article.

So what do ya think, did you get anything out of this article?  Did you get the free report?

As an affiliate marketer you can have the best product on the internet. You can have the most interesting website in cyberspace. But without traffic to your site, you will never make money online. Article marketing is one of the most powerful methods you can use to attract a massive number of visitors to your website.

Your article must be clearly written and informational. It should provide value and be written strongly enough to build credibility. You want your article to be an easy read so it engages your customer and gives them reason to want more.

The basic principle of online article marketing is to keep the attention of your reader.  Do this by offering some form of value. One way to do this would be to write an article explaining how to write effective article titles for search engine optimization. To be valuable the article would explain the concept and give several examples, so the reader could take something away from the article.

Once you have built your credibility you can weave in some kind of reference to your products or services. If you are submitting this article to article directories you would work the reference into your resource box.

Once you have written your article, it is time to incorporate on page search engine optimization. You should use keywords in your article title, in the paragraphs of your article body and in the anchor text link in your resource box. Your title should include seven main words most of the time. Keywords should at least be in the body of the article once, preferably scattered amongst the paragraphs. A key to remember is to keep the article reader friendly while trying to optimize it for search engines.

This article is one part of how to generate traffic with article marketing.

Are you looking to attract additional visitors to your website?  One of the most powerful ways to do this is through article marketing.  Article marketing will allow you to generate a significant traffic increase to your affiliate marketing website.  This form of internet marketing can help you effectively attract a steady stream of potential customers and other visitors to your website.

The first step in the process of article marketing is to develop a clearly written informational article.  It should provide some value, and should be written strongly enough that it helps to build credibility.   A clearly written article  makes sure your readers won’t just skim it.  By providing an easy read, you will be able to engage your potential customers, giving reason to want more.

To keep the attention of your reader, your article needs to offer some form of value.  This is the basic principle behind online article marketing.  One example of this concept could be to write an SEO-themed article about how to write effective titles for search engine optimization.  A valuable article on this subject would explain the concept and provide numerous examples, giving readers something to take away.

The result of a clearly written article providing value is credibility.  Credibility is absolutely vital if you are looking to drive a lot of traffic to your website or to your affiliate products.  Some of the best ways to build credibility through your article marketing is to inject your experience into your articles, provide references to findings from professional studies, offer facts, provide industry expertise, quotes and so on.

When a compelling article has been written, you can weave in some kind of reference to your products or services. It is important that you take this step in a modest way if you want your article marketing efforts to be taken seriously. You should not incorporate a hard sell, this doesn’t work.  Don’t tell people what to do, what to use, or force them to take your opinions.  Just write a clearly written, informative article, provide some value to your reader, and then use your newfound credibility as a way to generate traffic to your website.

Now that you have your article, you can implement on page optimization such as using your keywords in your article title. Your title should be 7 main words most of the time. Your keyword should also be used in most of your paragraphs, though not all are necessary.

Next time we will learn good ways to select appropriate keywords.

It’s no secret, you’ve heard it before, articles and content are awesome ways to pre-sell products.  When you gain your readers trust and warm them up to the product…PRESTO!…your bank account just had a deposit.

You need to make a plan for your affiliate marketing articles.   It’s important to select your topic carefully,  offer good correct information, and your article needs to be fun to read.  Then you will be able to draw your readers interest to the product.

How to Select Your Topics

Make a list of topics for each of the products you are promoting.  Put yourself in the mind of your customer.  Your topics should revolve around problems that the product actually fixes.   Those topics are the seed for your articles.

Create Good Information

The topics you listed will steer the type of information you will provide.  A couple of ideas for simple articles are:

Top ____ Ways to ____

____ Steps to _____

Keep your articles simple.  A captivating introductory paragraph, a couple of informative bullet points in between, and a summary paragraph to finish it off.

Remember not to give the whole enchilada.  You want to be informative and give your readers a good picture of their problem with a portion of the solution.  But direct them to your product for the complete solution.

Compelling Product Links

You will find that the most productive links and recommendations will be in the context of your article.  Find an appropriate place in your article and make your product recommendation, something like “_____ is what I recommend most”

At the end of your article is another great place to put an extra recommendation.

Obviously you will be limited by the venue you are posting your article too.

If you are putting it on an article directory you will probably be limited to recommendations in the resource box.  If posting to another persons site or ezine they will have their rules.  The most freedom is posting to your own site or blog.
