Another Lesson re-Learned

I admit it, I am a junkie for IM ideas. I am a real sucker for PLR and “How to Write yada yada”.

Because I am the info junkie I do come across ALOT of excellent offers, usually they come with a freebie attached to an upgrade…

So what is the lesson I received?

Well….I have been forwarding those opportunities to my small but esteemed list…

not bad in itself…

However, I have been relying on the freebie part as my content. BAD IDEA it smells of I WANT TO SELL YOU SOMETHING !!!

I also learned that I should probably scale back my emails from 5 times a week.

So how did I come up with this not so new brainstormed idea? I ASKED MY LIST. Go figure…

Whats my course of action?

I am going to re-design my emails to more of a newsletter. By that I mean I will have a topic, that may run for a period of time, maybe some personal stuff, and limit the distribution to two to three times a week.

But….as we have read a gazillion times CONTENT will be real and usable.

So what am I going to be doing in all the free time? Building that list of course. Buts thats another post..

P.S. Can you put a ps on a blog post? I dont know..

I was surfing some other blogs I really enjoy and Dean Holland had a post just today that is right in line with my thoughts in this posting. Take a look here

Keys to Killer PLR

I know this has been promised…and its a bit longer in the wait than I planned…

Before you can rewrite PLR you need to have some…I know, duhh.
However what I suggest is the PLR you accumulate have the following attributes;
1. Title
2. Introduction
3. A couple 3 or 4 paragraphs of content
4. Summary

Now if you have a boatload of PLR articles that do not meet these criteria DON’T pitch them. They will simply require a little more time for the rewrite.

So hey, how bout taking a look on your hard-drive see what PLR you have lurking around and pick a topic you want to work in.

I will be back tomorrow, I promise right now, we will cover how I rewrite PLR.

I recommend Easy PLR for your source of PLR.

Anyone Else Had This Happen?

I recently sent a “Bonus” download page to my list. It has several freebies…BUT…there are just as many upgrades offered. Now the freebies are awsome…I thought…

BUT…

I received an email from someone who just had to tell me I am a jerk for sending something that offered freebies and then an upgrade.

On one hand I felt pretty bad…on the other I was just trying to offer what I felt was good stuff…and yeup the upgrades were good as well.

So has anyone else experienced this and what did you do?

An Open Apology

I absolutely have to apologize to all who followed…

Recently I promoted a JV Giveaway event, Valentine Free Giveaway. All was going well. I added my products, sent a contributor link to my list, after opening day I heavily promoted it to my list again for members.

But I didn’t check the giveaway again until just this morning..

Dang it, I have learned a hard lesson…This giveaway is promoting “Adult” content…(HOLY CRAP…that is totally the other way from my beliefs, human dignity deserves more..but no more preaching)…

The lesson, check and re-check what you put your name on. Go back and review to see there are no surprises.

I apologize to all who were sent to this JV Giveaway by me. I did not expect or intend to offend anyone.

Rewriting PLR is essential and easy

PLR, private label rights, comes in many different forms. Articles and books or reports are primary forms.

Let me address a reason not commonly reported for why it is essential to rewrite. When you are going to put your name on something, your reputation goes with it. Why are you writing content anyhow? To develop trust from your readers and show your expertise. When you write you develop a “voice” thats how you say things in your prose. If you simply cut and paste from a source, your voice is not projected your content is someone elses, your readership may not put a defenition on it, but they know its not you. And your genuineness is tainted.

So then why use PLR? First and foremost it is a great way to cut down on research time. With PLR you simply read, absorb and then rewrite with your voice and ideas flowing. And in the process your content will be unique.

The amount of work you will have to do will depend on the quality of PLR content you have.

A good article has a strong title, good introduction, 3 – 4 paragraphs of content and a consise summary.

Come on back I will lay out the steps I use to rewrite PLR. I will also let you in on some sources of good strong PLR content that I use.
